Discussion of Donation Benefits

71 posts in this topic

As one of the choices when you donate I think you should be able to pick to wipe all passed laws.

This could help if you fancy a fresh start with your laws if you passed quite a few bad ones and I know you can repeal them but it takes forever to repeal them Trust me I have been trying to repeal a law for days :/.

Meh It's just an Idea I'll probably get a lot of negative feed back.

Also sorry for the lack of explanation as I am not that good at this.

this is a good idea, but the problem is in the fact that this has ingame effects that could not be replicated without paying.

Ragnar, I've merged your thread into the existing, stickied Donation Benefits thread. In future don't create new threads for issues that already have an existing discussion area.

Examus: The idea put forward is replicable without donation. You can repeal every law you've passed, it simply takes a long time. One per day in fact.

Also, it is not necessarily a requirement that donation benefits be 100% replicable without donating. That would remove the point of donating.

I figure that with the reseach thing, it is doable, just hard. This would provided a rather strong advantage/disavantage imo... I think the fact that this would wipe out all your laws would keep it balanced.

IRIS: I meant as in if you wanted to repeal a law it can take a week for a single one. this would speed that up drasticly.

People who do not support game bonuses for donations are free to start sending their checks to Chris now to end this conversation.

In the meantime, cash bonuses seem reasonable and they should scale with nation size. Perhaps three days of income get credited to your account?

I also liked the idea of 1km of land per $1.

I'm all in favor of getting 1 warn removed per month at the price of 5$. May not result in a lot of money now but once we grow and people get more warns it could result in a decent sum of money coming in

As somebody who plans to break rules constantly, I also support this. My ability to post scatological pornography on the forums will be extended for years to come.

It will obviously done on a case by case basis, getting a warn for posting OOC in an IC forums is one thing, posting bestiality and ******** is something entirely different.

In line with the research queue how about Nations who donate can queue other things.

Cash Automatically Deposited into World Bank every 30 mins.

Service buildings can be queued up, and built when you get the resources.

Cash Automatically goes into Land Purchases.

Queue up the building of Cities.

All of these things make the game more playable for those who work long hours and have disposable income, without boosting nations at all really. You could replicate the same actions if you are an active nation, and thus the advantage conferred is minimal.

This is actually a really good idea. Queues allow people with more money than time to replicate the same effects that people with more time than money are able to do on their own. This is a donation benefit that people would probably actually pay for. In order to maintain a stream of income, though, it would need to be temporary.

How about a suite of tools that allows automation and advanced settings for a nation to make gameplay easier for a small fee every month, such as $5. The Project Terra Pro Pack would be useful and, if it is worth it, very popular.

What commodities could be used as bonuses in donation deals to bolster income and ensure survival of our game? What would sweeten donation deals? Discuss...

I want to throw in my support for this idea. If this included the queues like Frawley suggested I could see myself using this! I'm legitimately surprised that such a good idea came up!

Honorable Terra,

If individuals are going to donate to the game, let them have an significant bonus. 5/500K, 10/1M, 20/2M, ect, and don't cap the amount a person can donate. I understand some don't have large pockets and I'm among that group, however this is a free game and the only way to keep it that way is for individuals to donate. So unless we as a community want to collectively fund the game we should reward those who are investing in the game. If it makes them ungodly powerful as a result don't envy them, thank them. Just my 2 cents.

Joseph M. Black.

Players shouldn't be able to buy a nation into power. It's a strategy game somewhat; if you screw up your nation, you shouldn't be able to donate 20 dollars to get your nation back up again. No monetary benefits; it's unfair that a nation ten days old could buy their way into having more power than a nation 200 days old.

Joseph, I've seen your suggestion fail horribly first hand in another game that, not surprisingly, no longer exists. Uber powerful nations are not in a vacuum. The power they weild will always affect other players and ruin the game for the base of players. A game that becomes that unbalanced will fail every time.

This is a good idea.... I think that having a monthly subscriber thing like this would be popular

my only issue with it is that you would probably want to avoid taking away features to add to the pack... my suggestion would be to have the game built, then add in these features after as something seperate. this would allow for everyone to have roughly the same abilities, and theoretically someone without the pack could physically do the same/better, but the pack would just aid the player. though I would avoid making it too easy...
