Ancient Stones

27 posts in this topic

So I was watching a video on Youtube discussing the show Ancient Aliens and how they get their facts wrong, and often Ancient building techniques and theories are mentioned. Well it then points out a very simple and well documented Roman technique for lifting large Stones and how a man in the UK used this Technique to raise a 22,000 LB stonehenge size pillar and then I remembered this whole topic and how Stonehenge was mentioned a number of times and thought I should post a video of that man doing it here

Yes! I've heard of that before. But I have several problems with that idea.

1. How long did it take the Romans to create that design? Stonhenge started construction ~2700BC. This was not long after we started building houses instead of living in caves.

2. The video and the idea never explains how stones of the very same size were perfectly placed across the top. Sure you can lift them with the same idea, but only to a certain point.

3. As far as advanced societies go, this society is believed to be one of the less advanced of their times.

But it is a good thought. I've heard of it before.
